Jewelry, Nails, & Fragrances
Avoid jewelry that may interfere with caregiving tasks.
Avoid scented perfumes, colognes, and body sprays.
Keep nails short, natural, clean, and smoothly filed.
Artificial nails are not permitted. This is a safety requirement because long or artificial nails can increase the risk of skin injury during personal care, make hand hygiene less effective, and are more likely to damage gloves.
Nail polish is acceptable if it is not chipped or peeling.
Clothing
Wear what's comfortable and lets you move easily.
Morning shifts can be warm, so wearing layers, scrubs, or shorts and a t-shirt is cool.
Occasionally we'll go out, attend an event, or go somewhere a little nicer. I'll can give you a heads-up in advance if it's the kind of thing where you'd want to dress up a bit.
