Jewelry, Nails, & Fragrances

  • Avoid jewelry that may interfere with caregiving tasks.

  • Avoid scented perfumes, colognes, and body sprays.

  • Keep nails short, natural, clean, and smoothly filed.

    • Artificial nails are not permitted. This is a safety requirement because long or artificial nails can increase the risk of skin injury during personal care, make hand hygiene less effective, and are more likely to damage gloves.

    • Nail polish is acceptable if it is not chipped or peeling.

Clothing

  • Wear what's comfortable and lets you move easily.

  • Morning shifts can be warm, so wearing layers, scrubs, or shorts and a t-shirt is cool.

  • Occasionally we'll go out, attend an event, or go somewhere a little nicer. I'll can give you a heads-up in advance if it's the kind of thing where you'd want to dress up a bit.
